“I followed White Rabbit to Wonderland, the poor guy didn’t see me. I was younger then and was too curious for my own good. The looking glass is what I went through but its tricky to get working. I’ve been to Wonderland three times and the looking glass jumping is hard and it makes your ears pop.” Alice’s heart sank when she heard that there were only a few left. “Is a young blonde girl with you? She’ll be just a year younger than I.”

Aurora quirked a curious eyebrow.  ”There’s a blonde woman with us, but I think she’s older than me—so she’s probably older than the one you’re looking for, too.”  All that talk of Wonderland made little to no sense to the princess, but she was glad enough that at the very least the last part did.

"Oh. You see I was hoping my sister might be with you. I’ve been looking for her, poor Edith she must be scared. She’s a sheltered girl who never does anything wrong so I worry for her." Alice thought that maybe her sister was safe but she couldn’t know until she saw her.

“Why of course!” He continued to smirk, “I am the master of fright, and a demon of light!” He bent down grinning wide in an spooky manner.

Zero had come out from behind Jack sensing that Alice meant no harm and barked cheerfully at her mention of him. The skeleton smiled more warmly this time placing his bony hand on his chest. “I may be the Pumpkin King of Halloween but I know who the scare and who not to. And after all what’s life without a little scare?”

Jack’s expression lit up when she mentioned the name of the world they were in. Wonderland… The place he had only read about in stories. “Oh my, I have really found myself in Wonderland? I was merely travelling outside of Halloween town. Why this place, it is so colourful!”

Alice laughed. “Well Pumpkin King this is most defiantly Wonderland. I should know since I come her so often. Halloween town? Is that where all the Halloween magic happens?” Alice thought that maybe it would be fun to visit Halloween town too. She had to agree with the skeleton that it was fun to be scared every once in a while. She thought that the man was very cute in a frightening way. She still wondered what kept him alive and how it worked. She didn’t think that living bones were possible.

“Oh how amazing!” Jack looked around excitedly, there were so many sights and strange colourful things surrounding him, he was very much reminded of the time he had first visited Christmas town. The wondrous feeling that filled his dead heart was much the same.
Zero had never seen anything like this place and was confused. He was so used to the dark spooks of Halloween that all these colours were overwhelming to him, he stuck close to Jack not wish to lose his excitable friend in this new world.

After a pause Jack answered her query, “Why of course, Halloween Town is where the Holiday comes from! I am the one who brings around new spooks and scares each and every year! It is a most terrible place indeed! May be I can show you after I’ve seen this wonderful, Wonderland!”

Alice thought what a tale she could give her sisters after she went to Halloween town. She didn’t know what it would be like. She imagined it full of ghouls and the undead. The streets covered in black squishy things and blood that was so thick that it stuck to your shoe like gum. She imagined it having the scariest creatures that walked the streets and they all had sharp teeth and devilish faces. She smiled at her wild thoughts. She thought that only night would be there and the moon was always full. “I can show you around if you want. The Hatter and Hare should be having tea right about now.” She giggled. “They always are though. And the Cheshire cat should be smiling his grin as he spies on everyone in Wonderland so we are bound to see him. The twins, Dee and Dum, should have a good riddle for you and then we can skip the Queen.” She thought what else was in Wonderland that was worth the time of a King.

Alice almost forgot about that. “I thought you didn’t know. Well I still have it if you ever want to see it again but I took it fair and square therefore its mine.” Alice smiled and reached to her dress pocket and patted it. “I also think I still have the hat ribbon I took. The red one with blue poke-a-dots.” Alice ate a few more fries.

Jefferson gave her an incredulous look. “I spent a week and three teatimes looking for that!” he admonished her. “I didn’t even think that you would have taken it.”

"I liked it and you had so many of them so I thought you wouldn’t notice. Sorry Jefferson." She gave him a devilish grin. "I hope you didn’t miss it too much. Which hat was it supposed to go on?"

“Of course, Alice! June is the youngest. She was my favorite little sister, and always tried everything before deciding. I always said she was smarter than the rest of us, because of her open mind and cleverness.” he sighed, “I remember one time, she managed to climb the tallest tree in the woods because no one else ever had. She fell on the way down, and I had to taken care of her for a month, but she was braver than anyone else for trying. I miss her.”

“She sounds delightful. I think her and I would get along well.” Alice smiled at the stars. “She does sound like a brave little one. And that she cares a lot for her older brother. My sisters were never that adventurous, I was that sister. Is the rest of your family just as mad as you are or is that special trait only yours?” Alice pushed the button telling the stoplight system that they wanted to cross.

“She was always my favorite. We were quite close.” his lips turned up at the corner as he thought of all the times he shared with June. “She was mad like me. But it isn’t a family trait. Most of our siblings aren’t mad, only in March.” Not all hares were mad, though it would have made it much easier to deal with his family if they were.

Alice saw his little smile and was glad. “I do hope I’ll get to meet her. All the hares being mad might be too much for anyone to handle. Although I’m sure they could all go up against the Queen of Hearts. Mad hares.” Alice chuckled. “They are truly something.”

“Alice, Alice Liddell. Professor where do you get your ideas, if I may ask? I expect that one doesn’t get these overnight.” Alice smiled at his kiss.

Charles pulls away with a chuckle. “Years and years of research, my dear girl.”

"Well I think I’d get bored of the subject before I could do lectures on it. Not that its boring it’s just I get distracted easily and have a hard time focusing on one thing at a time."

“That book isn’t true you know. The Hatter and Hare we much kinder and wouldn’t waste tea like that. Wonderland is much grander.” Alice smiled at the girl as she wrapped up the books. “Hey Grace who is your Papa?” Alice remembered Jefferson saying that he had a daughter. “He wouldn’t happen to be Jefferson?” Alice had been wanting to meet her.

“Yes that’s him. He’s my Papa. Why, do you know him?” Grace smiled at the wrapped books. She paid the other girl. “How do you know about Wonderland Miss Alice? And the Hatter and Hare?” Grace thought about the name of both the girl before her and the one in the book and thought it to be impossible that they were the same person. Of course they were all fairy tale characters so it was possible.

“I went to Wonderland when I wasn’t much older than you are now. I met your father there. He was a sweetheart to me, he was also bonkers but that’s beside the point. I was also great friends with the Hare.” Alice took the girl’s money and sneezed. “Why don’t we get out of this dusty old shop and head down to Granny’s? Jefferson did say he wanted me to meet you.” Alice grabbed her coat and pushed the door open for the younger girl.

Jefferson had never said anything about Alice. “Okay then.” Grace held the books close to her as she walked out of the store. “So what was Papa like in Wonderland? How did you get there? Did you go with Papa with his hat?” Grace pulled her coat on and zip it up. It was chilly outside. She looked at the Alice book and thought that the drawings looked nothing like her now.

“Jefferson? Well he was raving mad. He was also sweet, he took care of me there. I think he saw as a little helpless girl that he could take care of and maybe I reminded him of you. And I went with the White Rabbit, we sort of, I kinda followed him through the looking glass.” Alice put her arm protectively in front of Grace as a car drove by them as they were about to walk off the sidewalk. “Hey!” Alice yelled at the car driver. “You okay?” Alice put a hand on Grace’s shoulder.

“Oh! Thank you, I’m fine.” Grace was breathing hard. “I didn’t know there was a white rabbit. And I don’t think my Papa was really that mad, of course what do I know. I can’t imagine you as a helpless little girl.” Grace cross the street holding Alice’s hand because Alice insisted on them holding. Grace thought Alice was very kind and she liked her. “So you’re kinda new to Storybrooke then because you didn’t have much time to get to know the town? Must be tough because of not only are you new here but you’ve remembered who you really are.”

"Its not that pleasant not knowing people and the way things are done here. Storybrooke is its own unique place that strangers can’t really adapt to." Alice saw Granny’s in the distance. "But I’m getting used to it and I have people like your father to show me around. The curse breaking is actually good for me because I get to be out of the hospital." Alice this time looked both ways before crossing the street with Grace.

Liam watched the woman and tilted his head, his hair falling into his eyes. Whittaker needed a haircut… That was her, though. Miss Alice. Liam had always had a soft spot for Miss Alice. “Alice?”he asked, not sure if it was her or not and not wanting to make the mistake. “Miss Alice is that you?” It was so weird coming from Dum’s voice, but he would deal.

Whittaker came down the stairs quickly, thundering down the stairs excited. Liam knew that well because his body only produced that much noise when he moved quickly and was excited. “Alice?”he asked loudly.

Alice looked up to see the two of them. It had been a while since she had seen the twins of Wonderland. Alice smiled widely. “Dee? Dum? Is that the two of you?” Alice was glad to see the two of them doing well. She remembered their times together in Wonderland where they were sweet and kind or bothersome and annoying. She considered them all friends even though they could drive her bonkers.

“I don’t see why you couldn’t live in Wonderland but it can be dangerous and then you have to consider the Queen of Hearts too. The Queen doesn’t like visitors that much.” Alice wondered if this girl was locked up for more than her madness but then thought that it didn’t matter. “What’s wrong with this world though, if I may ask?”

“My world?”  She scoffed and shook her head.  ”I just lost a war, and now I’m being imprisoned for it.  But they didn’t even have the decency to put me in prison…I’ve been stuck in a mental ward, where ironically…I’m losing my mind from being there.”

"Well that’s a shame. Did you even have a trail? I don’t think that that’s the fairest thing to make you lose your mind when you were fine before." Of course Alice had had her share of people poking fun at her because she was called mad but it never went this far. She thought that maybe she should bring this girl with her.

Jack smirked, it would seem this girl hadn’t heard of him before. “Indeed, there are no skin on my bones after all. I am the being that rules over Halloween, you have heard of Christmas and Santa have you not? Every Holiday has it’s leader.”

He waves a bony hand gesturing to Zero. “This here is my friend Zero, as you can see he is not a living creature either. Our bodies may be dead but our spirits certainly aren’t.”

He grinned widely, “we won’t harm you, do not worry.”

“That’s so amazing.” Alice circled the skinless man. “So if you rule over Halloween doesn’t that mean you have to be the scariest thing alive? You’re rather sweet to be the ruler of Halloween but I don’t doubt that you are. And Zero is such a cute dog or spirit of a dog.” Alice tapped the floating dog’s nose. “I love Halloween but Mama says that it rots your teeth and the poor older people lose their hearts because of fright. Christmas is also wonderful but not as creative as Halloween.” Alice couldn’t resist the urge to poke him and so she did and jumped back at the touch of the cold bones. She had never seen something like him, and she had thought she had seen everything that was possible after her frequent visits to Wonderland. “So what brings you to Wonderland mister?”

“Why of course!” He continued to smirk, “I am the master of fright, and a demon of light!” He bent down grinning wide in an spooky manner.

Zero had come out from behind Jack sensing that Alice meant no harm and barked cheerfully at her mention of him.
